Occasionally, you may have trouble connecting a student to your Apple Classroom Class. This can be for a few reasons.
- The iPad may have disconnected from the WiFi signal, or they connect to the WiFi signal, but have no internet
- The iPad has bluetooth turned off
- The iPad has VPN turned on
- The iPad may have dropped your class somehow and the student needs to be re-added
- The iPad has an out-dated iOS
Troubleshooting Options
- *Always* remember to generate a new code when trying to add students to your Apple Classroom Class; this code is what lets the student's device know that it needs to connect to your class.
- Try putting the student device on Flight Mode for 10 seconds, then turn Flight Mode off
- Ensure the student is connected to WiFi and receives internet (the blue check mark next to the WiFi name means the device is receiving WiFi and internet - the student is not receiving internet if there is orange text that says 'no internet connection' under the WiFi name). Send them to the library to get reconnected.
- Ensure Bluetooth is on on the student's device. Toggle the switch off, count to ten, then on again.
- Ensure the VPN is off on the student's device (check Settings, VPN - it should say "not connected")
- Ensure the iPad is running the newest iOS. To check, tap Settings, General, then Software Update. Update if suggested.
- Restart the device student device
- Restart your device
- Remove the student from the class, then re-add themĀ
